Ford Foundation makes $1 million grant for Yad Vashem trees

JERUSALEM (JTA) — The Ford Foundation is giving $1 million to maintain the Righteous Among the Nations trees of the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial. The grant to preserve and protect the trees, which was announced Thursday, is honoring the 50th anniversary of the Righteous Among the Nations program at Yad Vashem. More than 24,800 individuals who helped Jews during the Holocaust have been recognized with the designation.

u čast onih koji su spasili Židove
, oko 2.000 drveta na "Mount of remembrance" ( Brdu sjećanja) kao i u kampusu u Jeruzalemu.
