Elie Wiesel’s childhood home vandalized by antisemitic graffiti

Unidentified individuals spray painted offensive graffiti on the external walls of a museum for Elie Wiesel in Romania, where he was also born, in what police said was an antisemitic incident.
The florescent pink graffiti that was painted on the Memorial House Elie Wiesel in Sighet in eastern Romania read “public toilet” and “Nazi Jew lying in hell with Hitler” as well as “Anti-Semite pedophile.”

Nepoznate osobe su  u Rumunjskoj ružičastim fluorescentnim  sprejem  napisale  grafite na vanjskom zidu muzeja- kuće u kojoj je rođen  Elie Wiesel, u mjestu Sighet ( istočna Ruzmunjska).  Policija smatra  da se radi o antisemitskom incidentu.

Wiesel je bio jedan od najpoznatijih osoba koje su preživjele Holokaust,  a umro  2016.  je 87 godini života. Dobio je Nobelovu nagradu za  literaturu i bio je počasni građanin grada u kojem je rođen i iz kojega je 1944 zajedno s obitelji poslan vlakom u Auschwitz.

“What was done is unforgivable,” said Chaim Chesler, co-founder of Limmud FSU. Chesler’s group, which sets up cultural events for Jews across the former Soviet Union and other places where many Russian-speaking Jews live, was responsible for the 2016 memorial march for Wiesel in Sighet.
