MORE THAN 100,000 VISIT WESTERN WALL FOR PRIESTLY BLESSING

More than 100,000 people attended the Priestly Blessing prayer service at the Western Wall in Jerusalem on Monday.

Thousands from Israel and abroad attended the Passover gathering at the historic Western Wall plaza in the Old City of Jerusalem This mass priestly blessing takes place twice a year, during Passover and Sukkot. Attendees receive the Biblical blessing from hundreds of kohanim – Jews of priestly lineage – as they face the congregation, hands stretched forward, chanting in one voice.

The kohanim cover their heads with tallit as they raise their hands to recite the Biblical blessing.A kohain is anyone whose father is a kohain. They historically served in the Holy Temple in ancient days.

"Kohanim"  pokrivaju glave  plaštem "Talitom" kada dižu ruke u vis i recitiraju biblijske blagoslove.
