EJC welcomes first ever UN report on antisemitism, but says there is still much work do to

( Tuesday, September 24, 2019 ) – The European Jewish Congress (EJC) has welcomed the publication of the first ever United Nations report on antisemitism. The report was published in conjunction with the U.N. Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Religion of Belief Ahmed Shaheed. “That the United Nations has finally published an in-depth report on antisemitism is certainly welcome and a very important event,” Dr. Moshe Kantor, EJC President, said.

“There are some very important conclusions that demonstrate the world body is concerned with the rise of antisemitism, in particular with regard to the fundamental threat it poses to democracy if it goes unchallenged.”
