‘Newsweek’ dubs Livni influential woman of the world
The American
magazine Newsweek and website The Daily Beast on Monday named opposition
leader Tzipi Livni as one of the 150 most fearless women in the world.
The website dubs her as "one of the most powerful women in the country,"
and says that she is known for her honesty and integrity. The magazine
also notes that Livni is the first woman to serve as Israel’s opposition
leader.
Američki magazin "Newsweek" i web stranica "The Daily Best" je u ponedjeljak imenovala opozicijskog lidera Tzipi Livni kao jednu od 150 najmoćnijih žena u svijetu. Web stranica je smatra jednom od najmoćnijih žena u zemlji i da je poznata po svojem oštenju i integritetu. Magazin je napomenuo da je Livni prva žena koja je Izraelski opozicijski lider.
Na listi se nalaze državni lideri kao USA sekretar Hillary Clinton i Angela Merkel, utjecajni "blogeri" i opozicionari, celebriti kao glumica Angelina Jolie i britanski pjevač soula Adela. Izbor "žene koja potresa svijet" proteže se od Detroita do Kabula.
Newsweek je imenovao žene koja su napravila pomake u podrućju biznisa, tehnologije i edukacije, kao i one koje se bore protiv diskriminacije.

In a reaction to the publication, Livni told Army Radio that, "on top of the personal compliment, it's good that an Israeli woman features on the list."
Newsweek and The Daily Beast were hosting their third annual "Women in the World" summit this week, in which Clinton was slated to participate. She joined a line-up of many other prestigious women including Oscar-winning actress Meryl Streep and Liberian Nobel Peace Prize recipient Leymah Gbowee.
In the framework of the event, Tzipi Livni was set to speak with historian Simon Shama, about "Israel on the brink," The Daily Beast announced.
