OBILJEŽAVA SE 80-GODIŠNJICA "KINDERTRANSPORTA"

Today I attended a commemoration in memory of the Kindertransports [please see photos below].
Today, 80 years ago, on December 2, 1938 the first transport with 196 children from Berlin arrived on British territory.
"ZUGE IN DAS LEBEN - ZUGE IN DEN TOD" / TRAINS TO LIFE - TRAINS TO DEATH"
At the same time on this day commemorations were hold in Gdansk / Danzig and in London.
One of the sculptors, Frank Meisler, was a Kindertransport child from Danzig.
The memorial in Berlin is placed next to Friedrichstrasse station in Berlin- Mitte.
Similar memorials exist in London on Liverpool Street;in Danzig / Gdansk; in Rotterdam/Hoek van Holland;and in Hamburg at Dammtor station.
