A heavy barrage of Grad and Katyusha rockets was fired at the main population centers in southern Israel Thursday morning. Red Alert warnings were heard in Ashdod, Ashkelon, Kiryat Malachi, Beersheva, and Ofakim. Speaking live from Beersheva at around 8:00 AM Israel time, Israel Radio's correspondent counted at least a dozen missiles hitting in the area of the city.

In Israel, where 250 rockets have been fired from Gaza since yesterday and where three people were killed today in Kiryat Malakhi in a direct hit on a home, JDC’s Emergency Response Team was activated immediately and is already deployed to help the most vulnerable, including the elderly, people with disabilities, and youth at risk.
JDC programs such as Supportive Communities for elderly and people with disabilities, Centers for Young Adults, and neighborhood-based projects like Better Together are all serving as platforms to implement immediate emergency responses to those in need in the areas most impacted.
