Dear Melita,
This week, 1000 delegates from across Europe, the United States and Israel gathered in Berlin to determine a roadmap for the continued restitution of art stolen from the Jewish people by the Nazi regime during World War II. The conference, 20 Years After the Washington Principles: Roadmap for the Future, was organized by Germany’s State Minister for Culture and Media, Prof. Monika Grütters, with support from the U.S. State Departments Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues, Tom Yazdgerdi.
Ovaj tjedan se 1000 delegata iz cijele Europe, USA i Izraela sastalo u Berlinu kako bi utvrdilo načine za kontinuiranu restituciju umjetnina koje su ukradene od Židova od strane nacističkog režima u toku II. svjetskog rata.
Konferenciju, koja se održava 20 godina nakon donošenja " Washingtonskih principa" , organizirala je njemačka ministrica za kulturu i medije
Prof. Monika Grütters, uz potporu Toma
Yazdgerdija , zaduženog za pitanja Holokausta u vladi USA
. U Berlinu su bili brojni predstavnici Židovskog kongresa, Organizacije Holokaust preživjelih u Izraelu , ambasadori, eksperti,
direktor istraživanja Claimsa Wesley Fisher i predstavnici Njemačke.
